That’s a wrap! We've reached the end of the auction and we’re busy tying up final bids behind the scenes. Thanks for being part of it — we’ll be in touch soon.

An autographed display of the Victorian England international footballer William Oakley, the mount comprising the signature of the player, a photograph and a printed biography, framed & glazed, 72 by 38cm., 28 1/4 by 15in. William John Oakley (1873-1934) played at full-back for the leading English amateur clubs Corinthians and Casuals. He won a total of 16 England caps between 1895 and 1901, once as captain. Away from the football field he was also the English long jump champion, and by profession a schoolmaster. He was a close friend of the England centre-forward G.O. Smith and after their retirement from football they became joint-headmasters at Ludgrove School.
