An original photograph the Prince of Wales's thoroughbred stallion taken by and signed by Princess Alexandra in 1900, signed, dated 1900 and title ''Persimmon'', an 8 by 10in. photograph, mounted; sold with a typed statement of provenance (2) The provenance note explains that this photograph was a gift from the Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandra to the Polish opera singer Jan Reszke (1849-1925) during his stay in London in 1900. In 1939 it was given by Reszke's family to Professor Dr Witold Pruski, a Polish expert on horse breeding, for his personal archive in Warsaw.
