Billy Wright's blue England international cap for the match v Portugal at the Estadio das Antas, Porto, 22nd May 1955, inscribed v PORTUGAL, 1955, the cap lining signed by Billy Wright Provenance: Bought at Christie's Glasgow 10th December 1998 where the catalogue description explained that this cap had been purchased at a charity auction and that the winning bidder had Billy Wright autograph the interior of the cap. Billy Wright captained England for this friendly international. Despite an early lead through a Roy Bentley goal, Portugal went on to win the game 3-1.
