A Moscow 1980 Olympic Games silver second-place prize medal awarded for football, in silver, the obverse with the traditional design after Prof. Giuseppe Cassioli's 1928 design with Victory seated above a stadium, the reverse designed by Ilya Postol with the Olympic flame burning above the stadium, the 1980 Games logo beyond, the rim inscribed for football in Cyrillic script, multi-coloured neck ribbon, in original fitted case The silver medal in the football competition at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games went to East Germany who were beaten 1-0 by Czechoslovakia in the gold medal match.
