Two carbon copy ledgers compiled by Tottenham Hotspur's Scottish scout 'Jock' Richardson between 1963 and 1968, including favourable reports on St Mirren's Jimmy Robertson and Dundee's Alan Gilzean who were both bought by Spurs, 'Jock' Robertson writes ''Roberston playing at outside left in the first half had a very good game and was direct in his approach and very fast and plays very well. I was very impressed.'', and of Gilzean, who Robertson watched in the Scotland v Norway international in Dundee, ''I was particularly impressed by the play of the Scottish centre forward Alan Gilzean. He worried the Norwegian defence into making quite a few mistakes and he had many shots from all angles at the opposing team's goal.''
