Bryan ''Pop'' Robson's winner's presentation for the 1969 FAIRS Cup, in the form of a continental miniature silver plated replica of the Trophee Noel Beard, inscribed COUPE d'EUROPE DES FOIRES, TROPHEE NOEL BEARD, VAINQUEUR 1970, 28TH APRIL 1969, fitted on an ebonised base, height 17cm., 6 1/2in. Centre-forward Bryan 'Pop' Robson made 206 Football League appearances for Newcastle United between 1962 and 1971, scoring 82 goals. He formed a dynamic front line partnership with the Wales international Wyn Davies and whilst at St James' Park won a Second Division Championship medal and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968-69, with Newcastle beating the Hungarian team Ujpest 6-2 on aggregate. This remains the club's last major honour.
