Rare 1909 Coventry & Warwickshire hillclimb gold medal, the obverse featuring the Coventry City coat of arms in coloured enamels on 9ct. gold, the reverse engraved FASTEST TIME IN CLASS G LEE EVANS within MOTOR CYCLE HILL CLIMB 1909, makers mark, hallmarked Birmingham 1909, 30cm. diameter This medal was almost certainly presented to the same rider who finished second on his Indian vee-twin 5hp machine in the 1909 Isle of Man TT, having led for the first 5 laps.
