Bell's Life in London and Sporting Chronicle 1848, rare survival as a bound volume of 53 issues of the leading English weekly sporting broadsheet of the day, founded by Robert Bell in 1822, primarily a racing paper, but with good coverage of other sports as well, notably boxing, the paper is in fragile condition and there is some damage to the edges, mainly the bottom right-hand corner of the early pages through page turning, the papers are also detached from the original binding boards and beginning to separate from one another at the spine
