Cycling medals awarded to the Medway Wheeler Roy Enfield, a group of five medals set into a turned wood bowl with a portrait picture, the medals comprising British Best All-Rounder Competition, a pair of 1949 issues for The Road Time Trials Council 100 Miles National Championship & another two for the 50 Miles event, in 1948 & 1949; sold together with a cycling booklet by Lon Pullen & Len Thorpe with a feature on Enfield (2) Roy Enfield was born at Gravesend and took up cycling in 1937, returning to the sport after 6 1/2 years in the Forces in 1946 during which time he took no part in cycling events. Enfield won national titles in 1948 & 1949, as represented in the medals in this lot.
