Start a valuationJohn Conteh signed boxing trunks, by Ampro of London, yellow with gold lame waistband and stripes, signed with humorous inscription TO GEOFF, THESE HAVE A SIX MONTH GUARANTEE, BEST WISHES, JOHN CONTEH These trunks were prepared by Ampro for John Conteh to be worn at the weigh-in for his British & Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Title Fight v Chris Finnegan in 1974. The weigh-in was conducted at the Odeon, Leicester Square, London. The fight was at Wembley 21st May and Conteh won the fight by a TKO in the 6th round. These trunks, along with the Cassius Clay trunks offered as the previous lot, were framed and displayed in the boxing-themed public house The Walnut Tree in Yeading near Hayes, Middlesex, in the 1970s. The present consignors were the landlord & lady of the pub.
