Stockholm 1956 Equestrian Olympic Games participation medal, gilt-bronze, designed by J. Sjosvard, the obverse with an Ancient Greek horseman above Olympic Rings, inscribed XVI OLYMPIADENS RYTTARTAVLINGAR, STOCKHOLM, 1956; sold together with a Swedish bronze plaque commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stockholm 1912 Olympic Games, featuring in raised relief the obverse & reverse of the 1912 Olympic medal and competitor's badge, inscribed 50 ARSMINNET AV OLYMPISKA SPEELEN, STOCKHOLM 1912, and to the reverse SVEN GRAPE, SRF:s ORDFORANDE, DA DESS RIDHUS BYGGDES, 7 by 11cm. (2) These medals were awarded to Major Sven Grape, who was a member of the Swedish Olympic Committee with specific responsibilities for equestrianism.
