That’s a wrap! We've reached the end of the auction and we’re busy tying up final bids behind the scenes. Thanks for being part of it — we’ll be in touch soon.

A racing plate worn by ''The Gilder'' when winning the Falcon Plate at Thirsk in 1924, mounted on a tinplate base with painted inscription The Gilder was owned by Mrs A James and was in training with Lord Derby's trainer George Lambton. It is likely that The Gilder was used as a work companion for Lord Derby's 1924 Derby winner Sansovino as this Thirsk plate was once mounted alongside a Sansovino plate in Lord Derby's collection. Lord Derby later gifted the plates to the Tophams at Aintree who, in turn, presented it to a local florist who had been a supplier to the racecourse for 25 years.
