Sidney Bertram Robertson-Rodger original watercolour and pencil drawing titled ''June - Wimbledon Centre Court'', signed to the reverse by the artist, comprising a main grisaille image of a gentlemen's singles match on Centre Court, above seven pencil sketches of tennis players and, curiously, one of boxers, 34 by 29.5cm., unmounted, reasonably good, a few marks and foxing spots Sidney Bertram Robertson-Rodger (1916-1981) was notable as a War artist and exhibited at the Royal Institute both in water colour and oil, variously as S Rodger, SR Rodger and S Robertson-Rodger. His key work Bombers Escorted by Fighters on a daylight sweep over The Channel is owned by the Ministry of Defence.
