A very early original football photograph of the Harrow School team in 1868, in original mount with title and player legends, one player is marked ''absent'' from the team-group, this is a great pity as this boy was Spencer William Gore who nine years later would become the first winner of the gentlemen's singles at the All England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon in 1877, the 8 by 10in, photograph in an arched aperture, original wooden frame, overall 45 by 50cm. The ten Harrovians in the photograph are (back) W Law & W P Crake; (centre) F E R Fryer & C A Piddock; (front) A A Apcar, Lord Kilmarnock, C W Walker (capt.), C Palmer, G T Smith & R M Warwick.
