A watercolour by Peter Biegel (British, 1913-1989) titled ''Down to Post, Great race for the Eclipse 1968, 2 Derby Winners'', signed and inscribed, watercolour and pencil, the image 20 by 26.5cm. mounted, framed & glazed, overall 35 by 41.5cm. The picture depicts the 1967 & 1968 Derby winners Royal Palace and Sir Ivor before their clash in the 1968 Eclipse Stakes, together with Taj Dewan who in the race was narrowly beaten by the former, with Sir Ivor back in third. This image was published in the Injured Jockeys calendar for July 1997. A small repro of the calendar page plus a picture of the finish of the 1968 Eclipse Stakes is taped to the backboard.
