A pair of Rocky Marciano boxing gloves, brown leather by Goldsmith of Cincinnati; together with a wooden display plaque with gilt titling from The National Sporting Club (3) Provenance: The Roland Dakin Collection, Bonham's, 2nd August 1994, lot 783C. Acquired from Mickey Duff via The National Sporting Club. Roland Dakin was a British Boxing Board of Control referee for 38 years and presided over 40 World Fight titles. He was avid collector of boxing memorabilia and his professional capacity gave him wonderful access to leading boxing personalities.
