This lot is being auctioned on behalf of the U.S. Polo Association and the proceeds will go to the American International Polo Foundation: A watercolour of the Westchester Cup polo match at Hurlingham in 1936 by Walter Ord Carruthers (British, 20th century), signed and dated '45, inscribed THE WESTCHESTER CUP, HURLINGHAM LONDON - 1936, watercolour over traces of pencil, the image 22 by 33cm., gilt picture frame, overall 29 by 40cm., good condition Exhibited: Reception and Exhibition at St James's Palace, 13th June 2006.
