A rare pair of Ray Clemence Adidas goalkeeping gloves worn during the 1977 epic Liverpool v's St Etienne European Cup Quarter Final on 16th March and the FA Cup Semi Final Liverpool v's Everton on 23rd April, the grey leather glove with red pimpled patches sewn onto the palms and back of the hand These gloves manufactured by Adidas were the very first pair of leather gloves issued to goal keepers at the time, unfortunately the fit was tight and the glove was surperseded by an alternative made in a wider fit with a woollen style palm. Provenance: obtained by the vendor directly from Ray Clemence in July 2017 from part of his private collection.
