A superb 1950 solid brass full-sized replica of the Jules Rimet trophy, set on a lapis lazuli plinth, mounted with three vertical metal plaques inscribed with details of the World Cup winners between 1930 and 1950, height 35cm; sold together with a group of ephemera relating to Uruguay and the World Cup, including photographs, magazines, cuttings and correspondence; the lot also including a Uruguay supporter's flag. All offered in the original fire-proof chest safe used to transport the trophy and ephemera to the UK.
