Paris 1900 Exposition Universelle Internationale award medal, designed by Chaplain, bronze, obverse depicts head of France with city view in the background and inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, reverse depicts winged figure of Victory holding laurel wreath and a palm branch and a winner on her back, inscribed EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE INTERNALE 1900 G. LEFEVRE, stamped BRONZE on rim, diameter 63mm, weight 102gms, bears minor ink stains near rim on both sides Since no participation medals were awarded for the 1900 Olympic Games held in conjunction with the international exhibition, this is deemed to be the best representation to complete a collection.
