9ct gold & enamel Durham Football Association Senior Professional Cup Winners medal 1938-39 awarded to Len Duns of Sunderland AFC in season 1938-39, inscribed with competition details, weight 12gms. Right winger Len Duns, born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, played his entire career at Sunderland either side of the Second World War. He made 215 League appearances, scoring 45 goals, and won League Championship and F.A. Cup winner's medals at the club. Provenance: The Len Duns collection, Christie's Glasgow, still bearing original auction house lot tags.
