Ireland v England international football cap season 1900-01, green, inscribed 1900-1901 Good condition The recipient of this cap is unknown, although inside there are two very old hand inscribed labels stating the cap was for the match v England. This game was played at The Dell, Southampton, with England winning 3-0 through goals by Crawshaw, Hedley and Foster. The Ireland team consisted of two English Football League players Peter Boyle (Sheffield United) and Archibald Goodall (Derby County). The remaining players were selected from Glentoran (3), Belfast Celtic (2), Freebooters (2) and one apiece from Distillery and Cliftonville.
