A lead crystal tribute trophy, mounted on a crystal base, presented to Pelé by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena in 2006 the year Pelé received the Artemio Franchi Award. The trophy features a black ball, an homage to Pelé’s nickname: the "Black Pearl" of Brazilian football. The stem features “PELÉ.” The base is inscribed “Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena/Banco dal 1472/GRUPPOMPS.” Banca Monte dei Paschi is the oldest surviving bank in the world. The trophy is housed in a box from Mario Ciono and includes verification that the trophy is pure crystal with more than 24% lead, boxed, 15 by 8 3/4 by 8 inches PROVENANCE: The Pele Collection, Julien's Auctions, June 2016, Lot 298
