Manchester United Player's Contract for Gordon Clayton for the 1956-57 Football League Championship winning season, drawn up on behalf of MUFC by the Club Secretary Walter Crickmer, an agreement for the player to be paid £1 per week between 1st July 1956 and 30th June 1957, an unsigned file copy Gordon Clayton was on National Service during this period, hence the £1 nominal payment to keep the player under contract at United, and in accordance with Football League governance under these circumstances.
