1938 FIFA World Cup winner's medal presented to Ottorino Barassi of the FIGC (Italian F.A.), federation of the tournament's winning team,gold, unhallmarked, designed by the Jules Rimet Trophy creator Abel Lafleur (French, 1875-1953) and signed to the reverse, the obverse with a winged figure of Victory based on the ancient Greek sculpture Nike of Samothrace (Louvre, Paris), inscribed F.I.F.A., the reverse with Le Coq Gaulois symbol and inscribed WORLD'S CUP, F.F.F.A., FRANCE, JUIN 1938, and named to O. BARASSI, 35 by 22mm., weight 12gr. Provenance: by family descent. The following lots 428 to 460 were awarded to Italian Sports Official Ottorino Barassi.
