A set of 1950s Sir Derrick Bailey jockey silks with the cap signed by Lester Piggott, by Boyce & Rogers, Newmarket, black & gold hoops, gold cap, signed by Lester in ink to the peak, good condition Sir Derrick Bailey inherited the black & gold racing colours from his father Sir Abe Bailey when he passed away in 1940. The cap is signed by Lester Piggott who enjoyed one of his first big winners in the Bailey colours when winning the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket aged 14 in 1950 on Holmbush. The lot includes a scan of a press report of that race.
