The above cap represents Dunne's 22nd, 23rd and 24th appearances for the Republic, in the Euro qualifier against Sweden played on 14th October 1970 at Dalymount Park, the teams drew the match 1-1, the Euro qualifier against Italy played on 10th May at Dalymount Park, Italy defeated Ireland 2-1 and in the Euro qualifier against Austria played on 30th May 1971 at Dalymount Park, Austria defeated Ireland 4-0.
