The above cap represents Viv's twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-sixth and twenty-seventh International appearances, in the Euro qualifying match played on 15th October 1986 at Wembley, England defeated Norther Ireland 3-0, in the Euro qualifying match against Yugoslavia played on 12th November 1986 at Wembley, England defeated Yugoslavia 2-0, Viv scoring his 2nd and final international goal, in the Euro qualifying match against Norther Ireland, England defeated Northern Ireland 2-0 and in the Euro qualifying match against Turkey played on 29th April 1987 in Izmir, the match ending in a 0-0 draw
