To be sold jointly on behalf of the Bob Champion Cancer Trust and the Injured Jockeys Fund: a superb horse racing quilt by the quilter-artist Brenda Martin Matthews (British, 1936-2022),
titled on a stapled sheet “Every Ticket A Winner” and with details of an exhibition at Ascot Racecourse, featuring a highly colourful and striking geometric pattern featuring 24 racehorses and jockeys head-on, the jockeys applied with plastic goggles, stylised lily pond border, the reverse applied with a cloth by the accessories company Magnificent Mouchoirs with a printed design featuring the Racecourses of Great Britain, suspended from upper hanging pole, 145 by 130cm., fine condition.
