That’s a wrap! We've reached the end of the auction and we’re busy tying up final bids behind the scenes. Thanks for being part of it — we’ll be in touch soon.

Set of vintage horse racing equipment circa 1920s,
comprising: jockey silks, maroon& gold hoops, black sleeves and two caps, one maroon the other black, the first cap bearing ink initials H N W; together with a racehorse's leather brow band wrapped silks matching the jockey colours; and a pair of riding spurs, with leather straps; the lot also including a few off-cuts of silk, (a lot).

The initials H N W are for Henry North Webb, the grandfather of the current vendor. Having served in the Army based in India for 20 years, Henry North Webb returned to England in the early 1920s, living in Dorset.

The choice of racing colours may have been influenced by the colours of the famous amateur wanderers cricket club I ZIngari.
