The above cap represents Bell's 15th, 16th and 17th International appearances for his country, in the match against Greece played on 1st December 1971 in Athens, England defeated Greece 2-0, in the Euro quarter-final 1st leg match played on 29th April 1971, West Germany defeated England 2-1 and in the 2nd leg match played on 13th May 1972 in Berlin, the match ended in a 0-0 draw
