Horse racing-themed walking cane originally owned by the 5th Earl of Rosebery,
with Lord Rosebery's name very finely engraved on top of the ball head handle, the cane with dedications to his Derby winners with added engraved silver bands that read from the top downwards KINGCRAFT 1870, SILVIO 1877, these two Derby winners were not owned by Lord Rosebery but is on record as a great admirer of the racehorse owner Lord Falmouth (1819-1889) and the third band is inscribed FALMOUTH 1889; the next bands inscribed Ladas 1894 Rosebery, Sir Visto 1895 Rosebery and the 6th and find band inscribed Rev. W. Rogers, Old House, Mickleham, this marking the presentation of the walking cane to the Rev. W Rogers who was a personal friend and had married Lord Rosebery and Hannah de Rothschild, the Rev Rogers formed the Bishopsgate Institute to improve the lives and helo the poor in the East End of London
