Ian Botham - two gilt-metal Benson & Hedges Cup 1978 Gold Award (Man of the Match) medals awarded to Botham playing for Somerset in the Group match v Combined Universities (Oxford & Cambridge), Taunton, 20th May 1978, and the Quarter-Final match, Sussex v Somerset, Hove, 7th & 8th June 1978, in original fitted cases (2)

In their final group match of the 1978 tournament, Somerset beat the Combined Universities convincingly by ten wickets with Botham being awarded ‘Man of the Match’ for his bowling, taking 4 wickets for only 16 runs off his eleven overs, of which two were maidens, so surpassing his previous best bowling figures in List A matches.
Somerset went on to another big victory in their quarter-final match against Sussex, winning by 102 runs, Botham top scoring in the match with 54 including eleven fours. His bowling figures were 11 overs, 1 maiden, 1 wicket for 29 runs. In the semi-final they lost to Kent by 41 runs.
