A Mid-Day Sun racing plate, chromium plated and mounted on a velvet backboard with a photographic portrait of the racehorse and a name plaque, in an ebonised frame, 19 by 20cm., 7 1/2 by 8in. The 1937 Derby winner Mid-Day Sun was a bay colt foaled in 1934 by Solario out of Bridge Of Allan. He won five other career races including the Hardwicke Stakes. Mid-Day Sun was owned by Mrs G B Miller, trained by Fred Butters and ridden by M Beary in the Derby.
