Start a valuationA 9ct. gold & enamel medal Yorkshire Challenge Cup runners-up medal awarded to Harold Edmondson of Huddersfield in 1923-24, inscribed YORKSHIRE COUNTY NORTHERN RUGBYFOOTBALL UNION, CHALLENGE CUP, HUDDERSFIELD C & A C, H.S. EDMONDSON, TO, J.R.H. GREAVES, AS A TOKEN OF ESTEEM, the medal has been mounted in a double-glazed frame with photographs and printed details, 21 by 27cm., 8 1/4 by 10 1/2in. Harold Edmondson won this medal when he played for Huddersfield on 24th November 1923. He then gave the medal to Mr J R H Greaves his teacher and rugby mentor at Bramley National School. Edmondson holds the distinction of being the youngest debutant in professional Rugby League. He was only 15 years and 81 days old when he played stand-off for Bramley in a try-scoring debut v Bradford Northern on 1st February 1919.
