A group of Bill Tilden memorabilia, comprising: i) an autographed letter written and sent from prison 11th March 1947 to one of his tennis pupils Arthur Anderson, mounted together with the original envelope and a photograph of Tilden; ii) a pewter trophy cup inscribed WILLIAM T. TILDEN II, RED CROSS, VICTORY TENNIS 1945; iii) a 1950s Bancroft Super Winner tennis racket; iv) and a maroon sports shirt; sold with a signed hand-written letter of authenticity from Arthur Anderson relating to the beaker, racket & shirt, and offering further information on all these objects including the confirmation that this was the racket Tilden was using up until the time of his passing in 1953
