Cortina 1956 Winter Olympic Games official gold medal winner's trophy, In the form of a cast bronze two-handled cauldron standing on 3 legs in Ancient Greek tripod form, CORTINA 1956 legend with Olympic rings above, with carrying handle, height 14cm/, 5 1/2in. The Official Report, p.266, confirms these trophies were presented at medal ceremonies with edelweiss inside. The silver and bronze medal winners were awarded slightly smaller versions.
