PERCIVAL, in original fitted case stamped THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE Manchester City won the 1936-37 League Championship title with a total of 57 points, three clear of Charlton Athletic. It was the club's first ever League Championship title. The following season champions City were relegated to the Second Division, the only instance of this occurring in Football League history. They were also the only team ever to have been relegated with a positive goal difference.
