Gaetano Scirea: a black & white striped Juventus No.6 jersey worn in the 1984 UEFA Super Cup v Liverpool in Turin, long-sleeved; sold with a Christie's auction catalogue relating to this jersey's original sale in 2000 (2) Becasue of fixture congestion the 1984 Super Cup was actually played on 16th January 1985. Juventus beat Liverpool 2-0 at the Stadio Comunale. This jersey was gained as a swap by Liverpool's Phil Neal and was acquired by the present vendor at the Phil Neal Collection auction at Christie's South Kensington, London, 29th September 2000. This jersey was sold as lot 243 although not attributed to Scirea at the time. This has been established from subsequent research. In photographs Scirea can be seen wearing Phil Neal's Liverpool shirt at the trophy presentation ceremony.
