An extremely early piece of Sunderland Football Club memorabilia, being a printed invitation from F J Trewhitt, Hon. Sec. of Sunderland Foot Ball Club, Woodside, inviting a Mr G E Gales to an evening event & dance at the Garrison Hall, Sunderland, 16th November 1882, laid down on a Victorian scrapbook page The club was formed 17th October 1879 as 'Sunderland and District Teachers AFC' by schoolmaster James Allan. Sunderland AFC joined the Football League in season 1890-91.
