A group of three telegrams sent to the Sunderland's Frank Cuggy on F.A. Cup Final Day 19th April 1913, the first two sent in the morning: i) ''Sunderland team congratulations, expect to see you win today, Walker North Shields'' ii) ''Wish you success, Conroy'' the other sent after the match: iii) ''Hard luck, great disappointment to cafe staff canny lasses'' Having won the League Championship in 1912-13, Sunderland narrowly lost out on securing 'the double' through a 78tth minute Tommy Barber goal for Aston Villa.
