Ian Johnson Australia cricket blazer from the 1948 Tour of England, green wool with gold piping, by Farmer's of Sydney, the neck label inscribed in pen IAN JOHNSTON [sic], the breast pocket crest dated 1948 Ian William Geddes Johnson CBE (1917-1998) was an Australian cricketer who played 45 Test Matches as a slow bowler between 1946 and 1956. Johnson captured 109 Test wickets at an average of 29.19 and as a lower order batsman made precisely 1,000. He captained the Australian team in 17 Tests. Johnson was part of Bradman's 1948 'invincibles' tour of England and played in 4 Tests, taking 7 wickets, scoring 51 runs and taking 5 catches.
