A 1963-64 Football League Division 1 Championship winner's medal awarded to Willie Stevenson of Liverpool FC, in 9ct. gold, inscribed THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, CHAMPIONS, DIVISION 1, SEASON 1963-64, , W. STEVENSON; sold with an example of Stevenson's autograph (2) In season 1963-64 Liverpool won the First Division title with a total of 57 points, four ahead of Manchester United. The Scottish left-half Willie Stevenson joined Bill Shankly's Liverpool from Rangers in 1962. At Anfield he also won a F.A. Cup winner's medal (see next lot) and a Cup Winners' Cup runners-up medal before losing his place to Emlyn Hughes which led to a move to Stoke City in 1967. Stevenson later had a spell in the NASL with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
