Cup Final signed menu, for a luncheon held at the Hotel Metropole, Brighton, the day after the match Sunday 30th April, signed in ink by the 11 finalists Hughes, Stubbins, Spicer, Payne, Cidlow, Lambert, Jones, Fagan, Taylor, Liddel, & Baron, and additionally signed by the manager and his wife Mr & Mrs George Kay, and by Bob Paisley & Jack Balmer Writing in his autobiography, Liverpool captain Billy Liddell recalls: ''a coach trip to Brighton filled in the Sunday and we returned to Liverpool on Monday by the afternoon train, to be accorded a reception from the citizens of Merseyside which could not have been warmer or more moving if we had come home as conquering heroes.''
