A very early trophy for an event at Stamford Bridge 16th August 1879, in the form a glass-bottomed pewter pint tankard awarded to C Willcocks for the Tug of War at an athletics meet, height 13cm., good Stamford Bridge had only been open for 2 years, the Stadium became the home to Chelsea Football Club in 1905.
