18 b&w press photographs of the England v Wales British Home Championship match at Wembley, 14th November 1956, including shots of Jack Kelsey making a save and of his replacement Alf Sherwood’s later heroics in goal, many from the Western Mail and South Wales Echo archives, all fully annotated to reverse. England won 3-1, but the match was marred by an early injury to Welsh goalkeeper Jack Kelsey, carried off by stretcher with Wales leading 1-0 after a John Charles goal. This 1956-57 Home Championship was the final full championship before the Munich Air Disaster of February 1958 would tragically rob all four sides of senior players.
