John Henry Taylor handwritten partial letter, in black ink, referring to the Evening Standard Target Golf tournament English professional golfer John Henry Taylor (1871-1963) was a pioneer of the modern game, a significant golf course architect and founder of the British PGA. Considered to be one of the finest players of all time, he also wrote notable golfing books. Together with James Braid and Henry Vardon, he made up British golf's 'Great Triumvirate' - the three outstanding players combining to win the Open Championship 16 times in the 21 tournaments held between 1894 and 1914.
