Rare Rugby Union programmes for England’s first tour to Argentina in 1981, covering six of the seven matches played - four in Buenos Aires, v San Isidro (16th May), v Buenos Aires Selection (23rd May), First Test v Argentina (30th May), Second Test v Argentina (6th June), and two exceptionally rare provincial programmes v Combinado Regional del Norte at Club Belgrano Cordoba (19th May) and Combinado Regional del Sur at Mar Del Plata (25th May); missing programme for the match played at Cordoba is believed not issued; sold together with English and Argentinian press cuttings, (qty) The First Test was drawn 19-19, while England won the Second 12-6. England were the first of the Home Nations teams to tour Argentina, eleven months before the start of the Falklands War in April 1982. Provenance: From a photographer’s collection.
