Multi-signed dinner menu French Army v British Army, Paris, 13th March 1947, paper booklet with conjoined country flags on cover, signed in blue ink on centre pages by 33 players and officials including Buckley, Bates, Ford, Wainwright, McCue, Wright, Merrick and others, 18.5 by 14cm., slight fold & marks Provenance: originally the property of Ted Bates (1918-2003) who played in the match. Later known as "Mr Southampton", he was, during his lifetime, player, manager, director and president of the club.
