A fine mint unused ‘W & J GOURLAY’ stamped featherie ball, also inscribed with contemporary handwritten ‘29’ (denoting weight) and the no. ‘7’ on reverse side, the initials W & J (William & John) showing a very slight loss of definition, colouring slightly darker on the name side whereas as the reverse side shows consistent perfect light tone, all stitching tight, and roundness of ball extremely well preserved
